Talks and Tipples

Liz Knight, Forager

Where:

Talks & Tipples - Outer Bailey

When:

Liz is one of the country's leading wild food experts, teaching foraging courses across the UK and running an acclaimed wild food business from her home in Herefordshire.

Spending her childhood face down amongst the grass looking for bugs, making concoctions from petals, weeds and of course mud; when she was at school she constantly dreamt of being outside eating. As a result, her grasp of French, Algebra and Latin is woeful but her ability to turn a handful of weeds into a delight to eat is legendary!

With a lifetime’s passion for cooking with less obvious ingredients, Liz established Forage Fine Foods & creates a unique range of flavourings from ingredients that grow in our back gardens and the wild.

Liz’s first book, 'Forage; Wild Plants to Gather, Cook and Eat' was published in spring 2021, a fully illustrated guide to 50 of the most common plants that grow across the world, alongside delicious recipes, enabling a wilder way of eating.

Brand new for 2024 sees ‘Buds and Blossoms,’ which sees Liz seeking to reinvigorate our love for cooking with edible flowers.
