Where: Talks & Tipples - Castle Gardens
The Spring Festival hosts the Wales & West leg of the national SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) beer competition – it takes place behind closed doors during the day on the Friday of the Festival.
SIBA, the Society of Independent Brewers, was established in 1980 to represent the interests of the growing number of independent breweries in Britain. It currently represents around 830 independent craft breweries and their vision is ‘to deliver the future of British beer’ as the ‘voice of British independent Brewing’.
As well representing their independent craft brewing members in the press and lobbying government on behalf of brewers, SIBA also run regional and national independent beer awards for cask, keg, bottled and canned beers, host regional meetings for the benefit of members as well as the UK’s biggest beer & brewing trade event in Liverpool.
SIBA's Chairman of Competitions, Brecon Brewing's Buster Grant, discusses the new format for SIBA's Independent Beer Awards and why they're so important - with some samples of the newly crowned award winners from the SIBA Wales & West Region!
