We hope you'll join us for these FREE talks, taking place all weekend at the Spring Festival in the Castle Gardens area of Ludlow Castle. There's no need to book, just turn up and enjoy learning from some of our local experts.

Sunday, 12th May

12noon: James Sherwin / Wild Shropshire - Foraging and Shropshire Terroir

Join James from “Wild Shropshire” as he focusses on the forgotten flavours of our countryside and explores how we taste.

“Wild Shropshire” is a terroir-based restaurant in North Shropshire. It serves multi-course surprise tasting menus based on Shropshire Terroir. James is proud to use produce he has either grown or foraged himself, or he has sourced from local artisan producers. You can find out more about James here: Wild Shropshire

1pm: Craft Gins with Ludlow Gin

Ludlow Gin’s Shaun Ward will lead you through a discovery of his hand-crafted gins, using only natural botanicals and no artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners. Ludlow Gin is a small craft-gin producer, who focusses on producing gin in handmade traditional copper stills, the way gin should be! You can find out more about Ludlow Gin here: Ludlow Gin

2pm: Harp Lane Deli - the wonderful world of cheese

Join Henry (World Cheese Awards judge) from Ludlow’s very own Harp Lane Deli, to learn more about the wonderful world of cheese. Harp Lane Deli has been awarded runner up for the Best Independent Retailer in the Observer Food Monthly awards – and what Henry doesn’t know about cheese isn’t worth knowing! 3pm: Kirkwood Distillery - Whisky

Come and learn why Scott Kirkwood from Kirkwood Distillery takes a different approach to his spirits, focusing on honesty and responsibility at every stage of his process. With good ingredients, great care and attention to detail, Kirkwood Distillery makes a good spirit and an honest spirit. Combining modern distillation equipment, traditional methods and an obsession for quality, Scott’s distillery produces true craft spirits of distinction.
